Freestyle Fitness Competition

Freestyle Fitness is the most prestigious competition for model-athletes women worldwide.
Freestyle Fitness represents the state-of-art in the fitness industry. It's a spectacular and explosive combination of beauty and fitness, performed by women not just beautiful but also in their best body shape. Freestyle Fitness Competitions was created in 1993 by George Snyder, world's foremost authority in women's sport training. Since then, it has been organized in places like, Orlando, Los Angeles, Cancun, Las Vegas, Madrid, Helsinki, Paris, Sydney and Acapulco. Athletes are invited to compete in Freestyle Fitness after an extensive search around the world. They are selected for their beauty, personality, grace and athletic skills. Freestyle Fitness is the highest achievement for beautiful athletic women. They must have elegance and style in healthy toned bodies with symmetry and body conditioning. The winner of Freestyle Fitness has to be the most complete woman in the competition. She has to beat a demanding "obstacle course", be beautiful and have the "total fitness look" on the stage. She is a perfect role model for women everywhere in the world. Freestyle Fitness Competitions are also a great scenario for the cities where the contests are held, due to the media and TV coverage and worldwide promotion.

Since 2008, Freestyle Fitness Competitions will be organized in different countries, ending with a grand international final.

Mayra Matos is the new Miss Puerto Rico Universe!

After weeks of speculation and anticipation, Puerto Rico has a new queen, the beautiful Mayra Matos, Miss Cabo Rojo. Mayra bested 70 other delegates from all over the Island in what many consider a fierce battle of beauties. The first runner-up was Miss San Juan, another strong candidate.

Mayra will represent Puerto Rico in the Miss Universe pageant next year.

It was a exciting night even though us watching the pageant through WAPA America had trouble with the transmission. Quite annoying when we are paying extra to get this channel. Very disappointing after all the hype around this new channel.

The pageant was long with too many musical numbers and too much of the three hosts (including the gorgeous Zuleyka Rivera, Miss Universe 2006). The current Miss Universe, Dayana Mendoza was a a guest and a member of the panel of judges.

Through the competition, Miss Cabo Rojo and Miss San Juan clearly dominated, but it was the final question what determined the eventual winner. Mayra's answer had more content and she looked more confident.

After a weak swimsuit performance for Miss Cabo Rojo (she looked awkward in her maneuver of the veil), she excelled in the evening gown portion by wearing a flowing white dress that made her look like she was on the air. Her catwalk was impeccable and I knew at that moment that the night was hers. In my opinion, Miss San Juan had the best swimsuit performance and was great in her beautiful silver gown, but her answer was too quick and vague.

Congratulations to Mayra Matos for a well deserved win! Starting tonight, I am a fan!

Santurce was 2nd runner up (a great surprise as she was amazing throughout the evening).

I just hope Jennifer Colon, Miss San Juan, is not wasted and that she gets to compete representing her country in an international pageant in the future. Perhaps, Miss World?

DAYANA MENDOZA MISS UNIVERSE 2008

On July 13 2008 in front of nearly one billion viewers worldwide Dayana Mendoza's life changed forever when she was crowned Miss Universe 2008 in Nha Trang Vietnam. The 22 year-old former Miss Venezuela was born in Caracas and speaks three languages - Spanish English and Italian. Dayana Mendoza was discovered at the age of 13 at a local bus stop. Since then she has gained vast experience in catalogue modeling and has worked with prestigious companies like Max Mara and Costume Nacional. Modeling has allowed Dayana to travel the world visiting places like New York Italy Germany France Athens and Spain. Although Dayana had a successful modeling career her lifelong ambition is to become either an interior designer or work in the field of advertising. About a year ago she began taking classes on interior design to help refine her skills. Whenever she enters a room she can not contain her sudden urge to start rearranging furniture and suggesting color palettes. Dayana was raised in a very close knit family perhaps the result of sharing a two room home with her mother father uncle grandmother and younger sister. She has proven to be a great champion for the official causes of MISS UNIVERSE®, which include increasing HIV/AIDS awareness by focusing on women's health and reproductive issues and forging relationships with organizations committed to research and education including the Latino Commission on AIDS Global Health Council and God's Love We Deliver. The Miss Universe Organization producers of the Miss UNIVERSE®, MISS USA® and MISS TEEN USA® Pageants is a Donald J. Trump and NBC Universal joint venture.
